Mammograms

Early detection is your best protection!

At Lovelace Health System, we believe that early detection is your best protection against breast and cervical cancer.

That’s why we continue to support the American Cancer Society’s recommendations for these screenings. If you’re a woman 40 years or older, and of average risk, the recommendation is to get your mammogram every one to two years.

Remember, mammograms are the best method for finding breast cancer in its earliest stage.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) recommends mammogram every 1-2 years for women aged 40 and older. ACS also recommends cervical cancer screening every 1 to 3 years for women who have ever been sexually active and have a cervix.

Lovelace Health Plan will continue to cover mammograms and cervical cancer screenings for their members.

So take care of yourself. See your doctor for a cervical cancer screening and remember to schedule your next mammogram, by calling 727.8966 or visit us at lovelace.com.
