

John Iacuone, MD, MBA, Senior Medical Director joined Lovelace Health Plan team on January, 24th 2011.
Dr. Iacuone joins Lovelace Health Plan from The Children’s Hospital of SW Florida in the Lee Memorial Health System, where he served as the Executive Director and CMO since 2006.
Dr. Iacuone attended college at the University of Louisville and earned his M.D. degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and his pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. He earned his Masters of Business Administration with a focus on health care management from Texas Tech University.
Dr. Iacuone was a practicing physician for 29 years in Lubbock, Texas. During this time he served as Chief of Pediatrics of two hospitals and served on the Board of Directors of Methodist Children’s Hospital. In 1990, he spearheaded an effort that resulted in the creation of Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, where he served as Chief Medical Officer.
He has served as president of the Lubbock Pediatric Society, is a fellow in both the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, and a member of American College of Physician Executives and American College of Healthcare Executives.
Additionally, Dr. Iacuone serves on the American Hospital Association Maternal and Child Health Governing Council. He also serves on the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Board of Directors. He has received the “Silver Stirrup Award” from the American Cancer Society for achievement in cancer.
