Mark H. Cohen, MD, joined LHP as a Medical Director in July 2010 after 32 years as a practicing rheumatologist.
After 15 years in private practice in Albuquerque, he joined the Lovelace Medical Group in 1993. He was chairman of the Division of Rheumatology with the Lovelace Group and later ABQ Health Partners from 1996 through 2009.
Dr. Cohen attended Indiana University School of Medicine and interned at Cincinnati General Hospital. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of New Mexico Affiliated Hospitals, and he did his Rheumatology Fellowship at Cincinnati General Hospital and UNM.
Dr. Cohen is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Cohen has served as the principal investigator in numerous clinical drug studies and in 2010 he joined Lovelace Scientific Resources on a part-time basis to continue his interest in clinical research with an emphasis on arthritis studies. Dr. Cohen has lived in New Mexico for 36 years. He is married and has 2 grown children.
